Manual metal spinning is a useful ‘cold forming’ process, carried out by a machine operator, on a lathe. While it may seem like CNC spinning, there are some key differences to note, one of which is the amount of force applied during the spinning process. As a result, manual spinning is typically best suited for materials with lower strength properties and thinner part geometries. Whilst CNC may be the quick choice for many projects, allowing for fast production, there are many advantages to choosing a manual metal spinning method. Manual spinning is highly adaptable, allowing our operators to work with a variety of metals and to produce complex shapes that might be challenging for automated processes.

Due to the lower force application compared to automated methods, manual spinning is particularly suitable for softer metals and for producing parts with delicate or thin-walled structures without risking deformation or damage.
