Tackling Challenges in British Manufacturing

The documentary examines the decline in British engineering and the challenges faced by UK manufacturers due to limited government support. The companies featured in this programme have been doing their very best to keep their workforce employed and, where they can, take on apprentices. 

There are now signs that the government is waking up to the fact that something has to be done before it is too late – otherwise the remaining craftsmen will have retired or passed on, with their skills dying with them. Many of our jobs have been lost to countries overseas, through lack of support from our government to protect these jobs. Sadly many of these jobs have left our shores forever, never to return.
